Emergency Cancellation Procedures

If both the 8:00 and 10:30 services are cancelled on Sunday morning, a service at 1:00 pm will be offered at the Macungie Campus, weather permitting.  Please continue to check the status of our worship services on WFMZ and Bethany’s website.  Additionally, we will utilize the b-mail and our Bethany App, which will update you on the status of worship services.

Hospital Visits

Please contact the church office if you or a family member will be going to the hospital. When you register at the hospital please use Church Code 747. If you have any questions, call the church office at
610-395-3613.

General Announcements

There are many ways to contribute:

Volunteers are needed to take parishioners who were recently in the hospital to doctor appointments and to therapy appointments. If you are able to serve in this mission, please contact the church office at 610-395-3613.

 Volunteers are needed to serve by ushering, greeting, and sitting at the Information Desk for Sunday services and special services.  If you would like to serve in this way, please contact Donna Barnwell at dbarnwell@bethanyumchurch.com   or call the church office 610-395-3613.

There are women’s groups, men’s groups, zoom groups, in-person groups,
men and women groups, daytime groups, and evening groups. For a list of current

Adult Sunday School Classes are offered every Sunday at the Macungie campus during the Sunday School hour beginning at 9:00 a.m.  You may join a class at any time.

Allentown School Project
Great News!!
We are now sponsoring NewComer Academy. This school is made up of refugee children.
We pack 25 bags everyweek. That means we need 25 of everything listed below.
The list of their needs is:
Canned vegetables and fruit, soup, Mac & Cheese, Pasta/Tomato Sauce, Rice/Beans, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Cereal, Breakfast Bars, Pancake Mix and Syrup, Oatmeal, Juice, Popcorn, Pudding, Granola Bars
Toiletries: Shampoo/Conditioner, soap, toothpaste, deodorant
THIS WEEKS NEEDS ARE: Canned Fruit, Jelly
 
If you do not want to shop, we like to shop at the Grocery Outlet, and could use some grocery cards from there.

Bethany Missions – Ukraine Relief Offering Don’t forget that this Sunday, we will have the opportunity to join the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse in Ukraine. All gifts that are notated for Missions this week will go to supporting that effort. Thank you for giving!

If you are visiting for the first time, please stop by the Children’s Desk for information on our ministries and events and receive a welcome gift for your child.

Beginning Sunday, September 12th, we will be launching new classrooms for our Children’s Sunday School program. Growing from 3 classes to 7, we will have classes for 2-3 year old’s, 4-5 year old’s, Kindergarten, First, 2nd & 3rd, and 4th & 5th. Maps and signs will be available to assist you in picking up your children after the 10:30 service.
 Sunday School: 10:30am. We would appreciate more helpers in each class. We have all our core teachers in place, but could always use assistants or subs.

Awana  Awana is our mid-week children’s program which will is held at the Wescosville Campus.  There is a family meal from 5:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and then Awana runs from 6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.  Ages 2 years through 5th grade.  Register online at www.bethanyumchurch.com.

Classroom assistants are needed.  The classroom assistant would require you to be at Awana each week, listening to the children recite their verses, helping the leader during lesson time and bringing the children down together for game time.

MOPS & MOMSnext: Mothers of Preschoolers and Elementary students meetings are the 2nd & 4th Fridays 9:30-11:30 am at Macungie Campus. All moms are welcome to join in a time of gathering, community, learning and fun. Come spoil yourself with some Mom time. MopsKids is available for children.

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS AT BETHANY FAMILY NIGHT

Wednesday evenings at Bethany, Wescosville campus, starting September 22: 5:15-6pm chef prepared dinner for the whole family 6:15-7:45pm Awana for children, youth group and adult bible study groups

40 Day Prayer Vigil Sept. 22 – Oct. 31
 
The S.O.U.L. Ministry is inviting you to be part of daily prayer vigils that will take place at the outdoor cross behind the Macungie building parking lot and the soccer fields.
Come to the Cross and join the SOUL team in prayer:
– for families
– for all people to value life more deeply
– for hearts and minds to be changed to save lives
– for Bethany to be a safe welcoming place where women and men facing difficult pregnancy decisions can come to find help, hope and acceptance in the healing power of Jesus.

Men’s Ministry Facebook Page We are excited to announce the launch of our new Facebook Page, designed specifically for the men of Bethany. We look forward to connecting with you and growing together in Christ through this new page.

We are excited for the season of Operation Christmas Child. You’ll be encouraged to pack your own shoebox and/or RSVP to attend a packing party. Please mark your calendars with the dates below and more details will be coming in October. Friday, October 1st: FIRST FRIDAY!!!! We will be bringing back Youth Fridays, formerly known as Cafe! This is a great time to invite your friends. Each month will include a different theme, hard-core games, calmer games, food, and an inter-generational activity. 7:00-9:00pm Typically held at Macungie Campus.
*** We are planning to go to a corn maze for our October event.
 
Monday, October 11th: Youth Hang Out Day. 10:00am-2:00pm Wescosville. All youth and friends are welcome to come play games, relax, eat & have fun.
 
Wednesday, October 27th: TRUNK R TREAT. Help us decorate the Bethany Bus and hand out candy for our annual Trunk R Treat. Great time to invite friends.
 
Sunday School will look a little different beginning October 3rd. Students will have the opportunity to choose classes based upon interest.
  1. Confirmation is for students in 7th grade and above who are interested in learning more about their faith and are considering becoming members of Bethany Church. There is a $20.00 cost for materials.
  2. Disciple is designed for students who want to really dig deep into Scripture and learn what the Bible says. Encouraged for high school students, this will be an inter-generational class, meaning adults will also be participating.
  3. Topical: Each week we will focus on a different hot topic and look at what the Bible says about that topic. This is designed to help students learn how to live our their faith in their daily life.
