Men's Ministry Prayer Focus

JUNE 26TH TO JULY 2ND

Gentlemen,

With our new Director of Children’s Ministry Libby Barringer on board, I asked her what can we as men pray about for the ministry.  She gave me a couple of things, but the first one is with regards to Vacation Bible School starting on Monday June 26th.

Let us pray for VBS this week.
Following is the prayer request from Libby. Pray for:

JUNE 12TH TO JUNE 18TH

Gentlemen,

As we head into Father’s day next Sunday.  I thought I’d present something to think and pray about this week as sort of a precursor to next week’s prayer focus which will obviously address all the fathers and what is required of us to be good Fathers.
Consider This:
Might we consider that we have to be “Good Soldiers (of the cross) as a prerequisite to being a good Father?

MAY 29TH TO JUNE 4TH

Gentlemen,

Yesterday was Memorial Day, and in many service tributes, we honored  our fallen soldiers as well as those who continue to serve their country.  This week, I’d like us to continue to honor and pray for our fallen veterans, those who served and those who are currently serving in the armed forces.

MAY 22ND TO MAY 28TH

Gentlemen,
On Saturday at the Men’s breakfast, Pastor Alex spoke to us about being POW”s, or Prisoners of the World.  He mentioned how we as men can succumb  to the pressures of the world, losing our control and falling onto sins trap.  To avoid these traps we must turn to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because everything depends on him and he supplies all our needs.

Today, Pastor Jim spoke about self-control, which we must have to in order to avoid becoming “Prisoners of the World”.  We can control ourselves through Jesus Christ.

MAY 15TH TO MAY 21ST

Gentlemen,

For Mother’s Day and for this week, I’d like to bring attention to the single mothers.
Consider this:
Per Dr. Charles Stanley:
“When a woman is in the press of raising small children, changing diapers, wiping noses, settling squabbles, it may not seem like important work.  However, God has given mothers the responsibility of shaping those young lives and teaching the importance of knowing and loving Him”.

“This comes through spending time with them each day, reading and teaching them God’s word”.

MAY 8TH TO MAY 14TH

Gentlemen,

Jim’s message today was about joy and how we can have joy in our lives even in the midst of the storm.
How many of you remember the song:  “I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart, where?, down in my heart, where?, down in my heart, I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, down in my heart to stay.”

MAY 1ST TO MAY 7TH

Gentlemen,

Some thoughts regarding Jim’s message today, about God’s love for us. Agape love, how well do love like that especially when it comes to our spouses. Jim used the words unconditional, sacrificial and forgiveness.
